Karno was the father of slapstick and discovered Charlie Chaplin, Stan Laurel, Will Hay and The Crazy Gang. This comedy drama spans seventy years through the age of Empire, World War one and into the golden age of Hollywood. Fred was the king of comedy for forty years and some still say 'it's like Fred Karno's Army. to describe anything chaotic!
